HEXES by Tom Piccirilli

Panecraft is a mental hospital for the insane.

Panecraft has some secrets too horrible to describe...

Returning after years of absence, Matthew Galen comes back home to Summerfell to visit his best friend.

The only problem is that his best friend is currently residing in Panecraft mental hospital because he committed crimes too unspeakable to believe.

But Matt knows more than the doctors and the others in the town. Matt knows the terrifying truth.

Because the hate and evil that resides in Panecraft and Summerfell comes from a dark, horrible place. A place only Matt knows about. And only he can put a stop it. To do so, Matt must face not only demons from hell, but also those of the mind.

Piccirilli has built a cult readership for years, but Hexes really should be his breakout novel to new readers in the US and all around the world. His characters are believable and well defined, and the story is innovative and captivating. Especially the supernatural aspects of the novel, which give the book a completely chilling atmosphere.

The multiple layers and story threads will keep the reader guessing literally from page one and, in some instances, may leave you baffled for a few days after finishing the novel. But all the answers are there, if the reader searches for them and makes the connection.

Piccirilli fans will love Hexes. Readers new to Piccirilli should seek out this book and read it - you won't be disappointed.
