SHADOW GAMES by Ed Gorman
Cobey Daniels has hit the big time.
He's young and he's rich and he just happens to be the biggest star in the country.
And then he meets Kimberly Connors, a dedicated fan, while he's making an appearance at Windmere Mall...
He takes her away for a quiet moment together...and then all hell breaks loose...
But that was a few years ago and Cobey has pulled what remained of his life back together again. Heck, they're even letting him out of the hospital and he has plans, big plans, for an even bigger comeback.
Unfortunately for Cobey, the past is still out there waiting for him...and they have even bigger plans for him.
Once he's released, Cobey's ready for a trip back to the top. What he gets instead is a trip more terrifying than anything he ever imagined.
Gorman is back to his best with Shadow Games. Full of his usual gripping violence and dark humor, we follow the rise and fall...and fall again... of Cobey Daniels. The plot is lightning fast and the characterisation very good, as the reader follows our anti-hero Cobey from one disaster to another - right up to the terrifying last few pages!
Included, as a bonus, is Gorman's novella "The End of It All". Which is well worth the read too!
Gorman is right up there with Laymon, Lansdale and Ketchum. Read him now.
